Description: | Fragmentary neck only preserved; mended from many pieces; the height of the neck and about two-thirds of the circumference preserved. Decoration in red paint: fine lines encircle the neck, around the middle of which runs a decorated zone: in front hatched diamonds, on the sides a butterfly pattern separated by vertical lines. The decoration does not meet behind the handle. At the top of the neck, inside the rim, not preserved, a red band. On the shoulder, rays starting from the base of the neck. Fine pinkish-buff clay. Protocorinthian. Cf. Johansen (1923), Les vases sicyoniens, p. 20, pl. VII:2; a rare type in Greece itself; date probably early 7th c.
