Description:   Fragments of rim and body missing; restored in plaster. Similar to P 8865 (Γ 2302) in shape, fabric, and decoration, but slightly smaller and squatter and flat-bottomed.
Reddish-brown glaze bands somewhat peeled.
ADDENDA P 8865: Similar in shape, decoration and fabric to P 8864 (Γ 2301), but smaller and with strap handle, concave in section on its outer face. P 8864: Round-bodied, round-mouthed jug on flaring ring foot; short concave neck. Handle looped high, from shoulder to rim. Fine pinkish buff clay; black glaze on outside of foot, inside and outside of neck and a band at point of greatest circumference.
