Title:   Amphora with Paint Decoration
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Fragmentary; much of walls, neck and lip missing; one handle gone, and all but attachment of the other. Partially restored in plaster. Low flaring foot, concave below; egg-shaped body, with handles attached to shoulder; relatively slender neck, slightly flaring, profiled lip. One side of the body dented in making.
Hard gritty clay, deep pink at core, gray at surface, roughly finished; buff slip on handles and attachments; in red; a horizontal band around shoulder (above handles) from which hang widely spaced, elongated double darts. In white, bands on neck and shoulder, and a broader band(?) below the darts.
