Description: | Two rim fragments from a 'double decker' krater, shape as Louvre, Pottier, Album, III, G 529,530 Battle of Pygmies and Cranes: on a) a crane, right, between two pygmies the one at the left with a club right raised hand and other at the right, object between him and the crane is probably his dropped club (?); on b) a crane, right, grasping with his beak the outstretched, drapery covered arm of a pygmy. No relief contour; white, with yellow details for parts of the cranes; glaze inside reddish brown; outside grey to black, poor, chipped. | |
