Title:   Statuette of Attis

Description:   Intact except for chip from base at proper left, and end of attribute held in left arm. Unfinished.
Male figure standing on small plinth, left leg bent; nude except for a cloak looped across the chest and falling across the left arm. Long curling locks surmounted by a peaked cap.
The back rough; the attributes to either side less fully worked than the figure: the right arm hangs at the side, holding drapery, or a lion's skin (?) hanging over a small pedestal. The bent left arm holds a short broad staff (?) which rests against the shoulder; lower end missing.
ADDENDA Also interpreted as Castor.
