Category: | Sculpture | |
Description: | Broken at all edges. Reused. On one side the background has been picked away to depth of about 0.006m. around the outline of a head in profile, which is short-haired and beardless, the features only slightly worked out; top of shoulder included, cut off in straight line below. Position of eye marked by a shallow chipping; interior surface otherwise level and covered uniformly with tooth chisel marks. Other side curves outward toward bottom (with reference to head). Lower part (band about 0.04m. wide) finely finished. Above this, surface has been carefully picked away. Marble has a curious grayish color, but rust stained like Pentelic marble.
