Title:   Herm of Silenus

Description:   Post behind and above head missing as is right arm and chip from left. Mended from several pieces.
Sleeping Silenus, set on and resting against a vertical, tapering post. Thick wool fillet around neck, head nodding forward and to proper right. Dressed in theatrical costume with thick belt somewhat above waist. Left arm hangs by side, holding drapery.
Large furniture support or herm of some sort to be set against wall. Slight thickening at end of post for insertion.
Pentelic marble.
ADDENDA: This is a Dionysios or a Priapos, his expression is drowsy but his eyes are opened.
Context:   Destruction fill, Rooms 1 (body) and 2 (head) of Roman House H.
