Title:   Grave Relief Fragment with Herm in Relief in Back
Category:   Sculpture
Description:   Neck to mid-thigh of frontal draped male figure with right hand and arm, which is sheared off, held up against chest on left holding mantle folds.
Crisp, harsh folds with a few deeply drilled contours and rasped finish.
On back in low relief and on a slightly different axis is a small herm with well-modeled portrait bust of a beardless man: tiny drill for corners of mouth and rather roughly chiseled herm shaft and background scooped out unevenly. Herm preserved from middle of head to nearly the full length of the shaft. On lower left a little stone juts forward of the original thickness of the grave relief, into which the second use, the second relief of a herm was cut.
