Description: | Small relief, dimensions preserved completely, save for the central akroterion, which is broken away. Chipped; the features of the figure obliterated. Top, bottom and sides chiseled fairly smooth; back rough-picked. Female figure, Kybele, seated facing, in a small pedimental niche. She wears a high crown. Both hands are outstretched; in the right she holds a phiale. Crouching at her right side is a lion. She seems to wear chiton and himation, the latter hanging over her left arm and drawn across her knees. Crude work. Pentelic marble. | |
