Title:   Head of Female Figure

Description:   Broken away behind and at neck. Nose badly damaged; mouth, chin and eyes slightly.
Female head, rather more than life-size, with hair parted at center. A little way back is a sunken band with small holes for attachment of metal ornament. Ear lobes pierced.
In the break of the neck, the top of a rectangular dowel hole.
Pentelic (or Parian ?) marble.
Cf. S 2055 (ΕΛ 158), modeling very close.
Context:   Late wall.
Handling:   is a bit loose on its base. The head should be enclosed in a case or moved indoors, but this is not possible being on permanent display on upper balcony of the Stoa
