Title:   Head of Female Figure of Aphrodite Type

Description:   Small head of Aphrodite type.
The hair is bound by a fillet and gathered into a large knot behind; a sakkos covers the hair and knot behind the fillet.
Granular, white marble, perhaps Parian or Turkish.
For context, cf. Agora XXIX, p. 446:
95/ΚΘ dug as single fill, "late Hellenistic with some 3rd century pieces", some material late 1st century B.C.
88/ΛΔ lower fill is "325-300 with disturbance of 150-75". (AS 1997)
Notes:   88/ΛΔ = E 14:1, 95/ΚΘ = E 14:3. Uncertain deposit fill, list as both.
Context:   Cistern passage. Uncertain if found at 95/ΚΘ, in Middle Fill or at 88/ΛΔ in Lower, Hellenistic Fill (the two fills overlapped in the cistern passage).
