Title:   Herm Head

Description:   Archaistic, bearded male head, broken away below. The tip of the nose missing; otherwise the head is complete and unweathered.
The beard represented by wavy lines; the arrangement of the hair is also stylized: a mass of hair down the back of the neck with wavy lines indicating the locks; one large curl over each shoulder; a heavy bang composed of three rows of conventional curls. A narrow fillet crowns the head and the top of the head is smooth, the hair must have been indicated by color. The eyes are small and the ears are drilled deeply.
Pentelic marble.
Context:   In debris over strosis C of Fountain House.
