Title:   Columnar Altar with Relief: Inscribed and Reused

Description:   Found in many pieces; in part put together, most of the top missing.
Battered molding at bottom: torus with guilloche (?); cyma with leaf; bead and real. In the plain flat top an egg-shaped sinking.
Relief decoration on sides much damaged: in the front, a bearded male figure, wearing sandals and partly draped in an himation, stands, facing front, in a recessed niche rounded at the top and with pilasters at the sides. Some object (patera?) was held in his right hand. To right of niche, the ends of three lines of an inscription, traces also at left (at least one letter).
Around the sides, formal decoration of boukrania, garlands and rosettes, in fairly high relief, this decoration belonging with the inscription to the first use, the standing figure to the second.
Pentelic marble.
