Description: | Split vertically into two halves. Broken off below neck, and arms and legs missing. Back not worked. Standing female figure wearing a thin tight-fitting chiton represented by long wavy lines. Deep rectangular cuttings at top for attachment of arms. Similar cutting at bottom for attachment of lower body, with part of lead dowel in place. Shallow rectangular sinking on front, at lower edge of fragment, probably to receive bunched-up folds of skirt. Cf. Acropolis Kore no. 683. Pentelic marble. | |
