Title:   Portrait Head of Male Figure

Description:   Broken off at neck. Forehead and front part of hair missing, back of neck and back hair also broken off. Features badly chipped and rubbed.
Life-size head, with slightly parted lips, broad nose and eyes with wide under-lids.
Hair very summarily treated; ordinary workmanship.
Pentelic marble.
Drilled for setting on base June 1950.
ADDENDA Initially interpreted as probably a female head.
Context:   Byzantine pithos in Room XVI, with mixed fill.
