Title:   Kybele on Lion Figurine

Description:   Many important parts missing, including Kybele from the waist up. Strengthened with plaster.
The lion stands right with his head turned to face, and his right front leg raised. Clay walls fill the space between his legs, to lend strength and stability.
Kybele, wearing high-girt chiton and over her lower body an himation which is twisted to a heavy roll around her hips, sits sidewise on his back, facing.
Many traces of color: white everywhere, gilt on lion 's mane, brown on his body, red on his tongue, and on drapery.
ADDENDA: Red color on lion 's mouth. Fragment a) figure on lion, b) right arm, c) left arm.
Notes:   Many small non-joining fragments preserved in box.
Context:   Cybele cistern.
