Agora Object: W 13
Inventory Number:   W 13
Section Number:   Φ 525
Title:   Bucket
Category:   Wood
Description:   Nineteen staves (two still stuck together) are preserved. They are in fair to good condition. An iron encirled the pail at its middle, numerous traces of it being preserved; and there were probably two other bands, one at the top and one at the bottom, though the traces are very slight. There was also a vertical iron band on each side at the handle, one of them being partially preserved.
The iron band about the middle seems to have taken the form of scroll decoration in places. Of two separate iron fragments, both clearly from pails, one is a short of scroll; and of one of the pieces of iron still attached to a stave is not exactly horizontal.
A wooden bottom, ca. 0.15m. in diameter, probably belongs to this pail rather than to W 13.
Cf. Proportion between height of staves and diameter of bottom in the pail W 6 (Φ 267).
