Notes: | G III Rather nondescript pottery though chiefly Urfirnis - one or two decorated with black. We are striking a small circular ring of mudbrick which Wace says may be a hearth. [p. 346] G III 0.50-0.75. Almost all are fairly coarse. Quantities are about equal of plain black Urfirnis 41 sherds Plain black polished 38 sherds Plain red and buff surfaced 26 (4 polished) Coarse sherds (many Urfirnis) 36 The Urfirnis is poor after con---ting in an uneven daub along the rim inside and out. [James and Nakassis= we cannot figure out what word con---ting could be; the dashes are hard-to-read letters] [Tzonou-Herbst=connecting] [MN= red U.F. 8 sherds UF patterned 1 sherd Mattmalerei 1 sherd] [James and Nakassis= presumably UF=Urfirnis] [MN: 157 / 355] [NB 85, p. 61, CWB:] G III 0.50-0.75 Urfirnis Red surface 8 sherds Black 41 sherds Also some of the coarse sherds Patterned black on polished buff 1 sherd inside of rim of a cup [drawing of purple black outside is sherd] polished yellow buff unvarnished pink buff red brown wash Plain buff unpolished 22 sherds polished 4 sherds Black polished 38 sherds 1 looks a good deal like Minyan Coarse sherds 36 some Urfirnis Bases 7 flat | |
