In this angle was found the remains of a pot strainer. Also much evidence of black ashes in this trench. The bottom is full of holes as for a strainer. The top had a handle at one time, which came up over the mouth of the pot in a half circle. It is 10.5 cent. high. [sketch of strainer] Tzonou-Herbst= Blegen 1921, p. 31, fig. 45, Strainers, Domestic ware, Middle Helladic Period, Group C. The strainer discussed by Scott is the furthest on the right in the photo, no. 3, now in the Old Museum CP 269 | |
