Notes: | Beirut Section. I and II dug previously. I am digging a little here to see what may turn up. I and II gave promise of producing fine sherds. Tzonou-Herbst= See p. 56, NB 84. III 0.60-0.70 (0.70 = 0.55 below wall of (L)) At 0.70 is a hard strosis white in color made of clay etc. perhaps some lime very hard. Also some large sized flat paving stones. I have removed a few and am going thru the strosis. The pit is very small however. A few sherds of Ephyraean, Mattmalerei, Yellow Minyan. | |
