Stratum:   Irregular shaped meandering deposit
Notes:   Basket 32 is the removal of a deposit of darker softer soil whose boundaries were traced from the N baulk just E of the column drum down to the N edge of B20, the deposit narrows to a range of 0.45-0.2 m through the center of the grid, then expands southward to southward to the exposed part of the water channel and northward to the N baulk. On the E side the deposit was defined by the stone configuration at ca. 421 E. Through the central postion of the deposit where it narrowed the large stones discovered in basket 31 were further exposed, revealing that the one which appeared to be another column drum was in fact a rounded stone. Approximately 0.1m S of the antifix a large pot, possibly used as a water junction the rim of a water pipe were uncovered. The diameter of the pot is roughly 0.3m. To the N of the antifix and to the W of the column drum the soil seems to be slighly lighter colored, weakly cemeted and with a higher percentage of pebbles 5-10%. The darker soil of B32 seems to cut through the layer defined as the bottom of B31, whivh is lighter in color with far more cobbles and pebbles and a more clayey matrix.
