Notes:   Dark reddish brown sandy silt, loose with rare pebbles. This basket is the removal of some of the stones located in the formation that is on a N/S axis to the E of the diamond tile pool, W of the column drum, N of the water channel. The floating stones, previously thought to be a continuation of the the water channel, were removed. As the stones were removed, it was eveident that they were part of the fill of a pit, along with the antifix, the fragments of both roof tiles and water pipes that surround the jar (B32) hypothesized to be a water junction. B 34 ended when the soil within the depression became more compact, possibly demonstrating 2 phases within the pit, though it is not homogeneous as E of the jar has more pebble inclusions and W softer soil. The jar has not yet been remved as it dips into the lower stratum of the pit. Just S of the jar, part of a block on the same orientation and axis as W271 was uncovered with what appears to be a cut through it, very similar to the cut in W287 for the passage of the water pipe trench (973 B23).
