Notes:   The matrix of this basket is medium brown sandy silt with rare inclusions. B18 is the removal of the deposit in the gap in W265, E of cellar 2005-1. The deposit possibly represents fill in a doorway or some feature of the wall, though more likely it is fill in the place of a robbed out block. The size of the gap is comparable with some of the larger stones in W265 to the W of W282. The deposit was cut into the red orange pebbly layer detected in B17, forming a firm edge to the N, though to the S the boundary bleeds. The scope of the basket was limited to the width of the wall. The deposit was dry sieved.
