Stratum:   Fill E of W290. Soil is medium reddish brown sandy clay with 40% pebbles, 10% cobbles, compact.
Notes:   B44 is a pass over the whole area east of W290. We are removing the layer which most likely sits above a foundation trench uncovered in B43. The large tile set in this soil is taken out in this layer. We have found part of a foundation trench in this basket although not in the south. Moreover, Bill says that the south is redder and we will dig it seperately. Top plan, p. 77.
