Stratum:   Fill associated with movement of stone for the tile-lined pool. Dark, reddish brown; fine grained loose; 5-10% inclusions, poorly sorted, medium to coarse pebbles; clayey sand.
Notes:   Basket 11 cotinues to remove the darker soil that we, in B 9, described as fill association with the moving of the well cut stones for the construction of the tile lined pool. Within this stratum are two boulders and a large, narrow stone that appears to have cement on its western side. In total, three boulders were found in the basket bordering the northern scarp. Two narrow stones, possibly part of a basin, continued underneath the large ashlar-like block. These two courses appear to be cemented together. A large cavity was found underneath the ashlar block and between the narrow stones. The two narrow blocks are connected by a partially broken base suggesting a basin fragment or conduit-like feature. We closed the basket after we felt that all of the dark soil ahd been removed. However the dark soil continued underneath the ashlar-like block but we were afraid to completely undercut the block. We will better define the southern part of this block feature in the following basket, B 12. After B 11 was finished, photographs of the area were taken (see page 35 for pictures; photograph numbers: JPG-2007-0180, BW 2007-11-13, JPG-2007-0181).
