Title:   Possible robbing trench S of wall 992
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1107
Context:   1015
Page:   0
Date:   2013/04/10
Stratum:   stones, pebbles, ceramics, bones, marble, glass
Description:   The soil color is light reddish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   We begin excavating 1015 as separate from 1014 since there is the possibility that they are trenches of different types (robbing vs. construction?)
Tasos Tsogas finds a coin (2013-42) in the sieve. Tasos Kakouros finds sections of pebble pavement in the fill. Tasos Tsogas finds two coins in the sieve (2013-43, 2013-44).
About 0.25m W of the E end of the context there appears a column drum, laid N-S, that is, perpendicular to the context, and extending beyond it to the N and S. The removal of 1015 exposes a firmer sediment below. At the W end it becomes clear that 1015 runs under the remnants of the robbing trench 1014 and thus predates it; possibly a construction trench. We finish and close 1015 when the harder sediment is exposed below the entirety of the context.
