Description:   The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We begin excating the hard packed surface 1056 as the next context N of wall 918.
Tasos the Barrowman spots a coin directedly on the exposed surface of this context, 2013-68. We proceed excavating from E to W; Panos finds a bit of bronze half-tube vel sim. And another fragment; we have not see much bronze thus far in other contexts. Also some carbonized olive pips.
We find a round metallic object - it seems like iron, but we record it as a coin to be safe (2013-71). Moments later, Panos finds coin 2013-72 is situ, and is surprised to see one so big after so many minimi.
Below 1056, not far, is another surface being exposed. Is that English? Removing 1056 exposes another surface not far below. Into this surface is cut something else, perhaps a hearth, which was itself cut to the S by Cut 919.
