Title:   Removal of Floor 1060
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1107
Context:   1061
Page:   0
Date:   2013/04/15
Stratum:   stones, pebbles, tile, ceramics, bone, glass, carbon, plaster
Description:   The soil color is light yellowish brown. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   We begin removing floor 1060 as deposit 1061 after digging out the possible hearth 1059 set into it. 1059 cut through the surface of 1060, leaving it in two disconnected pieces, but we are confident that they are identical.
This deposit lays against the rubble stones and the "stylobate" of wall 918.
We leave it open at the end of the day.
[16 April 2013:] We return in the morning to find the context finished, and cleaning of the N scarp underway. There are several contexts exposed by the removal of 1061: at the W end a tiny scrap of sediment filing a cut; then a deposit bisected by Hearth 1059. This is overlaid at its E extent by a deposit of hard red sediment. The bisected deposit could be a pit, in Panos' opinion.
