Stratum:   70%, small boulders, large round cobbles, tile, ceramic sherds, glass, iron
Description:   Top slope of the context is level down to the NE. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is compact. The soil is poorly sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   This context is the removal of the inner curvilinear wall 1068, located east of the western scarp of the excavation area. The stone wall was made of two large boulders, round cobbles, and broken tile. There were some charcoal pieces in the fill, too. Also, a coin was found in the fill. The context yielded only a very few pieces of pottery. No bonding material was visible.
One of the boulders was a reused architectural fragment with a series of architectural moulding. We removeds this wall and its companion wall 1069 (removed as 1073) in order to be able to understand the function and date of these walls, and also because the layer exposed by the removal of 1058 directly south of the Turkish house seem to run under the layer below the walls. The context is fairly small and we stopped excavating it when all the wall stones and soil between them were removed.
