| Notes: | The foundation of the E-W portion of wall 243 consists of smaller stones than the superstructure within a matrix of light reddish brown silty clay. There is more earth in this structure than in 243 and the inclusions are fewer. There is a soft layer of earth beneath the foundations. Larger stones appear at the east edge beneath the wall. These are most likely related to the wall running north. Further investigation shows the stones to be part of a fill. | |
