Stratum:		Inclusions 70%: roots, ceramic (pottery and tile), stones (several boulders, cobbles [some large, almost 20 cm], coarse pebbles, medium pebbles), bone, shell. Soil forms clump with hand pressure.
Description:		Top slope of the context is uneven down to the W. Bottom slope of the context is uneven. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is very poorly sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:		Slope degree (cont.): Top: Mostly level but there is moderate slope in W. 1/3 of B36. EXCAVATION NOTES: Baskets switched when big cobbles came to and end and soil became softer to dig. Edges of several stone blocks projecting into the pit from the E and SE sides first became visible while excavating B36. [Later note: based on the pottery dates of all the lower fills (all Ottoman II or earlier) this uppermost level of fill may be a later infilling of this pit. That is, the pit, or well, may have been filled in in the Ottoman II period, but after time when the fill settled down into the cut of the pit, there may have been a second infilling with this basket in the Early Modern period.]
