Notes:   5507 is the context number assigned to the removal of the objects revealed by the removal of the fill deposits 5495 and 5477. The removal of these deposits revealed a floor surface of hard soil that seems to be associated with wall 5411, but antedates Wall 5284, 5216, and the Turkish Wall 5217. Because the objects were found in situ on the floor, they were left in situ for the conservation team to remove. The objects were covered with nylon (?) and sieved dirt until the team was ready to proceed.
The conservationists used paraloid and gauze to consolidate the iron objects (axe head, blade, sickle), set the sickle handle in sieved dirt and removed the pot (beaker or mug). The articulated vertebrae were also removed. Elevations for the resting surfaces of the objects are:
Sickle handle: 263.36 E, 1027.00N, 84.30.
axe head: 263.07E, 1026.48N, 84.32
blade: 262.94E, 1026.57N, 84.33
sickle: 263.10E, 1027.11N, 84.33.
Bones and pot not discernable.
Some of the resting surface was removed with the objects, so the bottom elevations are at best approximate.
The dirt that was removed with the objects and by undercutting them for safe removal has been sieved and yielded a few sherds. These are likely from within the floor matrix, which must antedate the deposition of the objects on its surface.
