| Notes: | Structure 6069 is N-S foundation of wall 5442, which is in western half of courtyard of Byzantine house. It was identified during removal of wall 5442 and distinct because of course of tile and stone at its top. Located fairly deep and not as extensive N-S as superstructure. At southern end wall jogs to the west 0.26m. Foundation removed as part of program to fully reveal floor surface in NW part of courtyard. Dating pottery from wall 6069 should provide information about construction history of courtyard. Soil is dark yellowish brown clayey silt with 10% inclusions (ceramic sherds, stones). Removal of wall 6069 in northern section revealed cobble surface in red clay soil matrix. In northern section revealed… another surface at lower elevation. | |
