Notes:   Structure 6206 is an E-W wall flanking the room west of the courtyard of the Byzantine house. This wall was designated 50m KJ in the 1960s. This wall abuts the ne corner of the Ottoman house. It is built of limestone, marble and conglomerate in mixed style. No foundation trench has yet been found for this wall.
LATER NOTES (04-05-09):
We decided today to remove the top stones from this wall, which appear to represent a later superstructure on an earlier foundation. These courses removed from eastern end of wall 6206. Earlier phase of wall now labeled context (6228). We are removing these courses as part of the overall attempt to identify and represent the construction phase of the Byzantine house. Also realized this superstructure was later based on presence of ceramic material visible in soil matrix which dates to 12th century. Several of the removed stones, including a nicely squared and polished block suggest reuse.
