Description: | The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is soft. The soil is moderately sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes: | Context 6340 is a small circular pit located northeast of pier 6319 southwest of courtyard of Byzantine house. Revealed by removal of floor patch 6339. Removal of context 6340 included taking out a large marble piece and it is possible, based on its shape and its association with the two piers (6319, 6337), it could represent a post hole. Soil was softly compacted dark reddish brown clayey silt and it was softer than the surrounding soil enabling its identification. Until more layers removed further north, difficult to say whether this feature is isolated.
