Description:   Structure materials: reused limestone ashlar blocks. Material size: W .44m H .5m L .75m (approx). Material finish: Ashlar. Material construction: coursed. Material bonding: none. Features: Vertical line suggesting previous use of block.
Notes:   Structure 6566 has been identified through removal of pit fills for cut 6536 on W side of wall 6016 and north of wall 6526. The currently visible portion of structure 6566 consists of one course fo reused limestone ashlar with at least 2, and possible 3 blocks visible. Inside the pit defined by cut 6536, 2 ashlar blocks can be identified within a course line with a .16m vertical space between them filled with rubble. The only uninterrupted measurements we can take are for the larger block segment wich sits north of the other visible block in the pit which is truncated by both walls 6016 and 6526. This larger block is 0.5m high X 0.44m wide; from the south end of this block to where it disappears into wall 5562 is 0.75m. The less visible block to the S of the larger block exteneds .3m to the S before it is obscured by wall 6526. Current interpretation is that structure 6566 preceded, and provided a foundation for, 6016 which is a rubble wall sitting on top. It is likely that an identical course/structure underlays wall 6526, though more excavation is needed to determine this. Wall 5562 later truncates 6566. The possible third stone for wall 6566 is visible protruding from the N face of wall 5562 in a direct line with 6566 on the S side. Protrusion is 0.3m.
