Lot:   Lot 2015-071
Stratum:   20% small rocks, medium pebbles, cobbles
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark yellowish brown. The soil compaction is hard. The soil is poorly sorted. It is sandy clay.
Notes:   Context 199 is the continuation of context 197. The excavation of context 199 exposed 3 cuts in the vertical section of the bedrock, the bedrock in which well 39 was excavated. The center and eastern cuts were filled in their lower extension by pit 200 and 203. The western cut did not correspond to a pit and in its lower extension was covered by the fill of the northern foundation trench of wall 44 (see photo 2015-1120 for these cuts). Deposit 199 is very rich in coins.
The stratigraphic relationships between 199 and the martyr need to be confirmed by Sarah James. The Martyr (D198) seems to be a later context laid against 199. Is the martyr the remaining fill of a possible robbing trench of wall 44, fill excavated in the previous weeks?
