Corinth Basket: South Stoa, context 433
Collection:   Corinth
Type:   Basket
Name:   South Stoa, context 433
Area:   South Stoa
Context Type:   deposit
Title:   Fill above bedrock(?) in 4R W, II
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1110
Context:   433
Date:   2016/04/19
Stratum:   light pinkish brown silty sand; more compact than 432; charcoal inclusions
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the SE. The soil color is light pinkish brown. The soil compaction is weakly cemented. The soil is moderately sorted. It is silty sand.
Notes:   We open this context to continue to remove the fill in 4RW. We changed contexts since the fill now appears to be slightly harder than that of context 432. The fill is a light yellowish, and then slightly more orange (closer to bottom) silty sand, and is firmly compacted. We expose the level of bedrock (or redeposited bedrock/stereo?) and several discernable pits and/or cuttings in the S, central, and N portions of the context (see contexts 437, 441, 443/444).
