Type:   Basket
Name:   Temple E, Southeast, context 349
Area:   Temple E, Southeast
Title:   Hard fill N of Wall 20
Category:   Deposit
Notebook:   1108
Context:   349
Date:   2014/05/20
Stratum:   40% inclusions, coarse sub-rounded pebbles, tiles, ceramic, and bone
Description:   Top slope of the context is level. The soil color is dark reddish brown. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is poorly sorted. It is clayey silt.
Notes:   Deposit 349 appears to be a harder, clayier deposit directly to the N of Wall 20. Context 346 was stopped directly next to it, since 349 was harder than 346. The goal with this deposit is to trace it, understanding its relationship to 346 and Wall 20.
After 349 was removed, it was clear that we came down on a similar deposit (as 346, based on a similar matrix). 349 must be one in a series of lenses in the corridor, which might be on top of the pebbled surface we saw coming up when we were closing context 346. Again, like what we thought with the conclusion of 346, the E side of the corridor, in the very least might have been an outdoor area at some point.
