| Notes: | Deposit context 441 is a deep fill below the tile paving in unit 2 room A. This fill was likely intended to raise the floor level in room A as it is clear that the tile paving in room A is much higher than the tile paving in room B, the adjacent space to the E. The fill 441 is laid against the preserved courses of the NS wall (453) that presumably had its upper courses removed for the construction of room A. The also continues westward and northward outside the area of excavation. This is the fill that preserves the cut for the robbing out of the upper courses of the wall, so it seems likely that the fill was laid against the wall and then the stones were removed. The deposit on the E side of the wall at the same elevation as 441 preserves the same cut but its matrix is different. The removal of the fill 441 reveals 2 differentiated deposits that form a slope toward the S. Animal bones: 0.1 kg (thrown). | |
