Lot:   Lot 2015-018
Stratum:   10% Inclusions, Medium Pebbles, Sub Rounded Spherical. Elevated number of sherds and processed animal bones.
Description:   Top slope of the context is slight down to the S. The soil color is light brownish yellow. The soil compaction is firm. The soil is moderately sorted. It is sandy silt.
Notes:   (KTT) Panos wanted to change baskets for the bottom of the yellow soil. Thus, Context 721 is equal to Contexts 709 and 697 (721=709=697). I (KTT) anticipate this will only take a pass to remove the rest of the yellow fill, but we will see if it goes unexpectedly deeper in the center. Hopefully this will reveal the inerface between the red sany soil in the east and the darker "mauro"soil in the West.
With Larkin's suggestion we took a sample for water-sieving from the NE corner of the context.
Panos continues to trowel southward and seems to be getting to the bottom of the yellow soil. We will have to sweep to be sure.
(ERA) 14.29 Due to the amount of soil removed from the context, it was considered necessary to collect a second sample for flotation, this time from the southwest area of the contextand slightly deeper than sample 1.
11:51 In the NE corner of the context became visible the remains of a sealed rabbit hole, although the area does not seem to show that this bioturbation affected upper layers.
13:00 After exhausting the last traces of the soil that defined this context it was closed.
