Description: | Fresco from walls of chamber, decorated with Nilotic scene. Border consists of broad yellow-brown stripe between black lines, and a second black stripe further in toward panel. Left side of panel preserves largely light blue fronds, with a large round blue mass near upper limits; in center a red boat with curling stern, floating in a pool of light blue; in it is a fat, nude man in red, with bent legs, and partly raised hands, possibly fishing; an unintelligible object at right in boat. To right of boat, near top, a small red man holds a shallow basket for fishing (?) suspended from a pole (?); he is preserved from shoulders down, faces right. Further right towards middle of panel a red ground line, on which a figure moving to right, holding a spear (?) is a large bird (?) in profile to right, with a tall plume (?). Blue fronds separate the various scenes. | |
