Description:   Rather low and small kotyle, with convex sides, small ring foot. Horizontal loop handles.
Decoration:   Silhouette style. Handle zone divided into triglyphs (five vertical wavy lines) and metopes, latter filled with two silhouette bird each; two broad red bands with a checkered band in between; three horizontal lines; widely-spaced rays at base. Glazed line on the outer edge of ring foot; resting surface reserved; inner edge of foot painted; undersurface reserved with two concentric lines. Interior painted solid except two reserved bands, one at lip and the other below. Handle reserved with horizontal stripe. Silhouette bird type kotyle (See Hopper 1949): Payne, NC, Transitional Kotyle type B.
Material:   Fine buff clay. Brownish black paint fired reddish on one side. Applied red paint.
Munsell Color:   10 YR 8/3 (very pale brown)
Condition:   Missing parts. Mended from many fragments. Few small pieces of rim and body missing. Restored.
Period:   Early Corinthian (620/615-595/590)
