Description:   Articulated kantharos with flaring ring foot. Resting surface tapered to concave interior and flat underside with low nipple in center. Exterior profile of foot is wheel grooved in two degrees. Biconical body with rounded carination set at approx. two thirds the height of the body. Lower walls echinoid. Upper walls are inclined and have a profile with a compound curve moving from convex to concave. Lip is straight, rounded and slightly rolled out. Two vertical strap spur handles with rectangular strap thumbrests attaching just below lip and at mid upper body.
Decoration:   Black glaze over all. Scraped groove on mid lower body. Scraped groove at top of handle zone. Sides A & B: four horizonatal pre-firing incised lines in middle of handle zone.
Material:   Fine white clay with few fine black inclusions and rare medium to large red and black inclusions.
Munsell Color:   5Y 8/2 white
Condition:   Complete profile. Many joining frgts., preserving all of foot except few chips, three-fourths of body, two-thirds of lip, thumbrest & upper third of one handle. Surface has black glaze almost completely worn. RIP body & handles. Traces of differential firing. Fingerprints
