Description:   Cyma kantharos with stem foot, flat resting surface and nippled conical undersurface, with moulded exterior in two degrees; narrow lower with convex sloping profile ending in beveled edge, upper very thin pointed ridge articulated from lower by shallow groove. Very low conical stem connected to foot by curve. Wide body with very convex lower and straight upper almost vertical in profile, narrowing slightly to small everted tapered lip. Vertical strap handle with rectangular thumb rest attaching to just below lip and upper body.
Decoration:   West Slope style with vertical reeding in lower body except for inscribed X below each handle. Horizontal groove band at level between two handle attachments, and double band just below lip. Black glaze all over.
Material:   Fine very pale brown clay with rare fine black, red, sparkling, rare small spherical rounded red and black inclusions.
Munsell Color:   10YR 8/3 (very pale brown)
Condition:   Complete profile. Numerous joining frgts., preserving foot, stem, 1/2 body, 2/3 lip, both handles. Black glaze worn.
