Description:   Articulated kantharos with flaring ring foot. Flat resting surface. Concave underside with large nipple in center. Exterior of foot has profile wheel grooved in two degrees. Biconical nearly globular body with rounded carination set at approx. two-thirds the height of the body. Lower walls echinoid. Upper walls are inclined and have a profile with a compound curve moving from convex to concave. Lip straight and tapered.
Decoration:   Black glaze over all. Intermittent incised lines below carination. One scraped groove at bottom of handle zone and one scraped grooze just below lip. Sides A & B: necklace with string, ties and pendants in added paint in middle of handle zone.
Material:   Fine pink clay with few fine black inclusions, rare large red and black inclusions, and rare small sparkling inclusions.
Munsell Color:   7.5 YR 8/3 pink
Condition:   Complete profile. Numerous joining frgts., preserving all of foot except few chips, three-fourths of body, two-thirds of lip. Surface has black glaze mostly worn. Traces of differential firing. Corroded iron and soil attached to handle zone. RIP. Fugitive added paint.
