Description:   Corinthian krater of which flat, thick outturned rim and one handle plate preserved.
Decoration:   Interior black, purple. Exterior black over buff slip. Interior glazed with purple bands. Exterior: rim and outer edge of rim decorated with stepped zigzags. Flat, projecting handle plate 0.085 m. W. x 0.067 m. H x 0.011m. Thick, decorated with male head facing left. Head tilted downwards slightly. Bearded, with fillet around hair which hangs down back. Hair, neck and shoulders black, face and hair band red. Details of head incised. In field, 2 blob rosettes, one incised. Cf. Payne, Necrocorinthia, pl. 27, no.780, p. 302, Louvre E 635 "The Eurytios Krater".
Material:   Hard-fired yellowish buff clay with white lime inclusions
