Description:   Lid with shallow convex profile with hooked or upturned rim with convex profile. As Hayes Form 182.
Decoration:   Red slipped interior and exterior, burnished on exterior, fired black on underside and exterior edge of rim, double circumference groove incised halfway to top of lid.
Material:   Red clay with frequent small to medium buff, black and sparkling inclusions and rare voids, hackly fracture.
Munsell Color:   Clay: 2.5YR 5/7 Slip: 5YR 5/7
Condition:   Fragment. Fragment, one piece preserving most of profile from below top to rim, 1/12 of circumference, slip worn at edge, blackening on interior and exterior surfaces.
