Decoration: | Black glazed interior and exterior background; dark red slip on exterior used for figural decoration; wave pattern topped by single horizontal band used as groundline; foot placed on rock to left of column shaft and base; cloak hangs to left of foot and rock; similar to the work of the "Hermes Painter" (Corinth VII.iv); red slip is notably darker than in other Corinthian RF; wave pattern is relatively unusual (cf. C-72-170A for similar example from "Hermes Painter"); ankle is anatomically correct, unlike some other Corinthian RF painters. | |
