Description:   Neck-handled amphora with flaring ring foot, flat undersurface, flat resting surface, ovoid body with max. diam. above the median of the body at H. 0.145, tall cylindrical neck with concave sides flaring out to outward thickened rim with tapered lip; vertical strap handles attached on neck and shoulder. Profile similar to but not identical to Kerameikos 2155, Kerameikos 866 (Coldstream, Greek Geometric Pottery, 1968, pl. 3a, 3d).
Decoration:   Resting surface and undersurface of foot reserved. Exterior of foot, body, neck and rim black glazed except for four groups of three reserved lines each at regular intervals around the body, two below the median, one above, one immediately below handles, reserved decorative panel on both sides of neck between handles comprised of two registers separated and framed by three reserved lines, lower resister decorated with dogtooth, upper with four zigzag lines between three vertical lines, rim reserved with groups of vertical lines all around, handles reserved with back decorated with horizontal bars witrh vertical stripe along edges. Decorative elements similar to Kerameikos 2155, Kerameikos 866 (Coldstream, Greek Geometric Pottery, 1968, pl. 3a, 3d).
Material:   Fine light reddish yellow clay with rare medium black rounded inclusions and rare platy and spherical voids
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 7/4 (pink)
Condition:   Complete or intact. Complete mended from eight fragments, with two chips missing from rim and one from handle; small hole on upper body. Glaze worn.
